•Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among African American women.
•African American women have the highest death rate of any racial or ethic group for breast cancer
•African Americans, cancer has increased in men than in women.
•Their is an estimated 19,540 new cases of breast cancer are expected to occur among African American women in 2009.
•The overall rate of breast cancer is 10% lower in African American women than in white women.
